D.C. Education in the News
Two years ago this month, Mayor Adrian Fenty tapped Michelle Rhee as his Schools Chancellor, bringing a new national level of awareness to the problems facing the District’s education system. Sunday’s Washington Post featured analysis of some of Rhee’s successes, failures and challenges for the future. Many of these issues take center stage in The Teacher’s Lounge.
The above story comes five days after another put out by the publication Education Week that the on-time high school graduation rate for D.C. students has fallen below 50 percent. Here is the Post’s article on the report:
